In a little over 1 month (32 days) I am going to the Biggest Loser Fitness Resort and I am a NERVOUS wreck! After reading some of the blogs of those already there-- YIKES!!! 10 mile hikes? mountains? tunnels? 6-8 hours of workouts a DAY?!?!? I am just going to have to push beyond any place I have ever been....

I don't hear anyone talk much about their weight loss on these blogs-- that sort of concerns me?? That is MY main goal for this camp... At least 10 lbs. will satisfy me.... but NOTHING less than that!

I want to arrive at camp in my low 190's. Not ready to post my weight- but I will before I leave.

  1. Karla, My daughter will be there when you arrive, it will be the last of her 4 week stay. She should be at about the same weight as you when she arrives at the resort. She is wanting to loose 20 lbs and maybe a little more during her month stay. The reason many don't talk about the lbs they loose is because you will also build muscle and muscle weighs more than fat. So in one week instead of losing 7 lbs on the scale, you may only loose 5 lbs but you lost 9 lbs of fat & gained 4 lbs of muscle. Though you would still look and feel like you lost 9 lbs because you would have lost the inches and tightened things up.Paulette

  3. Karla, I've been following the resort facebook page for a couple of months now. This is the first that I've seen you post. We live in Indiana, where are you coming from? How long are you going for? Jerica, my daughter, will probably not do a blog. She has a 2 year old son, and I'm guessing what free time she has she will spend on the computer seeing and talking to him. If I can remember, when reading your blog, I will post a little of how her day went for you. She is looking forward to meeting up with Brandi when she gets to the resort. I'm sure she would respond to your email if you want to write to her and discuss your trip. Jericatn@aol.com It's nice knowing someone is there waiting to meet you when you arrive. Jewell will also be there when you come. She is very friendly and I'm sure would be open to any pre fitness ridge communication. Paulette

  4. I have to admit, weight loss has been my main reason for going also. I don't have a particular number in mind, but I'm expecting something big since I have a lot to lose and it will be a shock to my system. However, I am finding that my thinking is shifting more and more to the big picture of lifestyle change, not just pounds. It's pretty clear from the blogs that the inches are the most noticable difference, but only second to the emotional and psychological changes that occur.

Wishing you all the best on your journey! I think many of us feel the same...excited and nervous! We kind of know what to expect from other who have blogged, we just have no flippin clue what it will feel like!

  5. Glad to see your post. I've been home for a week after being there for a week...am going back three more times for a week each later this year.

Just remember, this isn't the show...this is real life. I lost 7.3 pounds and 8 inches while there for a week, while others only lost 2 pounds but 13.5 inches. Everyone is different...be kind to yourself and trust the program and it will pay off by changing your life! You're right Leslie, if you could measure the change in my brain about how I view this journey, that's where there would be the most notable change. Wishing you all the best!
